Umami Burger

October 28th, 2016 by Benjamin Billings

In 2012 GQ announced that Umami Burger made the burger of the year. Unfortunately for us the closest location was in L.A. All of that change when the SLS arrived on the north end of the strip, bringing with it the much heralded Umami Burger. What is all the buzz about? Here is what I found. continue reading »

All-Star Burger Bash at MGM Grand

October 10th, 2013 by Erik Chudy

special passAs many of you know, last week I was invited to the All-Star Burger Bash at MGM as part of their 4th Annual food & Wine All-Star Weekend. I was extremely excited coming into this, as all eight burgers sounded great. Unfortunately what I forgot, but was quickly reminded of when I started eating, is that mass-produced, rushed food events such as this rarely produce great products. We noticed many sliders were missing ingredients from one to the other, and in many cases we could rarely taste all of the ingredients listed in their descriptions. Either way we had a great time, met some awesome people, and ate tons of food! Continue reading to see a brief rundown of each slider offered. continue reading »

MGM All-Star Burger Bash Preview

October 1st, 2013 by Erik Chudy

So yesterday I got invited to the All-Star Burger Bash portion of the 4th Annual Food & Wine All-Star Weekend at MGM and I’m pretty excited. The whole thing is a 3 day long set of food-centric events at the MGM Grand, but this is really the only part that pertains to me of course. It looks like tickets are still available for several of the events, so if you’re interested definitely go check it out for yourself. I will be at the MGM Grand Pool on Saturday from 1:30-3:30 to sample the many different burgers that are being featured. Needless to say, I probably won’t be eating breakfast beforehand. continue reading »

San Diego Burgers

August 22nd, 2013 by Erik Chudy

As I’ve done in the past, I wanted to talk about a few out of state burgers I was recently able to try for any of my readers that like to have an idea of what else is out there. Over July 4th weekend we took a trip to San Diego, where I was able to try a couple burgers. One of them was planned, and didn’t turn out as well as I had hoped, while the other last minute choice ended up being a welcome surprise. continue reading »

Miller’s Bar

July 15th, 2013 by Erik Chudy

stop here!Since I’ve been out of town more than I’ve been around lately, I’m here once again to report on some burgers I’ve eaten in other cities. Some of you might find these reviews completely useless, but I’m always curious to check out the burger scene in other places and I have to maintain my weekly burger intake somehow. This week’s burger comes out of a 72 year old establishment in Dearborn named Miller’s Bar, a place that a friend has been talking about for almost two years and was a long overdue visit. Within the next week I will be writing about a couple of burgers I ate in San Diego, as well as a Vegas burger to satisfy the locals. continue reading »

July 12th, 2013 by Erik Chudy

map viewIf the service of going all over town to find the best burgers around for you guys wasn’t enough, I’m now here to provide you with the most useful tool for locating one of those burgers in your direct vicinity (as long as you have an iPhone). As of yesterday my new app is now available to download; it has access to all of my reviews to date, and will display the new ones as I post them. And to top it off, there’s even a map of every location I’ve been to, which links directly to its corresponding review!

We’ve already gotten some great feedback for tweaks and additions since it was released, but if you think of anything that could be useful or just have some comments about it, please send them along.

So go download it, and enjoy!

The VBB 2013 Burger Tournament Champion

May 1st, 2013 by Erik Chudy

the champs! After a drawn out, dramatic and controversial week, we have a winner in the VBB 2013 Burger Tournament with the title of ‘Best Burger in Las Vegas’: DW Bistro! I would like to congratulate Bryce, Dalton and the entire staff who got completely involved down the stretch and pushed for all their friends, Facebook followers and customers to vote them to the top. Their New Mexican-style green chili cheeseburger and DW turkey burger definitely proved their superiority! I would also like to send major praise to runner-up View Wine Bar for a terrific run through the tournament; hopefully this contest raised awareness for some fantastic off-Strip burgers that were under the radar before. The results of the entire tournament can be seen here. continue reading »
